Meet adoptable deaf hunky boy Tyson who is an 11 year old house hippo who is looking for a very special home with someone who will cherish him, become his new best friend and always keep him safe.

Tyson-WA – Deaf Dogs Rock

From his foster caregiver: I am fostering a sweet cuddly clingy house hippo. Tyson is 11 years old. I rescued him from a lady that used him only for breeding. She was going to take him to the pound or put him down due to her living situation and couldn’t care for him. She said he spent most his life as a breeding stud and has been outside with a doggy door to a garage. Being with me he has learned to be in a house. He loves to lay and cuddle on the couch. He is deaf, has arthritis in his back left leg. He had a cancer mass removed in 2020.

Tyson, loves children!  He does okay with cats and he ignores them for the most part but he can be territorial. I have four inside cats and he does pretty good with them unless my cats antagonize him. He does good with other dogs. He cannot be around chickens (yummy chicken nuggets). He walks great on leash but sometimes he pulls when overly excited but brings it back after some redirection.
I am looking for a family that preferably has kids but with a very limited amount of other animals so Tyson can get most of the attention and cuddles (no farm homes). Tyson likes to go and be adventurous especially with car rides.

His adoption fee is $300 (he is fully vetted) to a screened and approved home only. You must live within a three hour drive of Selah, Washington to be considered for adoption.
