Ruby is a beautiful 5-month-old Dogo Argentino with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Although she is deaf, she has never let that slow her down. She learns quickly through hand signals, already knows her basic commands, and picks up new routines like a sponge. She’s highly food-motivated, making her a joy to train.
Raised on a ranch alongside a 2-year-old Dogo Argentino and a 2-year-old Doberman, Ruby loves being outdoors. She enjoys exploring, spending time by the pond, has recently discovered that she loves swimming, and has begun scent training, where her incredible nose and natural Dogo instincts really shine.
A few weeks ago, Ruby was injured during an unsupervised altercation with one of our older female dogs. She is healing well from the stitches on her shoulder and, most importantly, the experience has not changed her loving temperament. Ruby continues to be social, curious, and has shown no signs of aggression toward other dogs. She has been incredibly resilient throughout her recovery.
This decision has been very difficult for our family. We believe Ruby deserves a home where she can receive one-on-one attention and continue to build her confidence without having to share her space with another dominant female dog. Our goal is to give her the best opportunity to thrive, not because there is anything wrong with Ruby, but because we believe she deserves an environment where she can be the focus.
Ruby is affectionate, adventurous, and loves being with her people. She can be a little vocal at times, but she is an incredibly sweet puppy who wants to learn and please. With continued training, patience, and love, she is going to make an exceptional companion. We are committed to finding her the right home where she can live a happy, safe, and fulfilling life.
