Meet adoptable deaf, 3 year old German Shepherd mix Buddy who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him and always keep him safe.
advocate: Have you ever wanted a companion for monotonous chores like mowing the lawn and vacuuming the house? Do you need a dog that doesn’t get startled by noise, or, enjoy those extra ‘me-time’ minutes in the morning before ‘letting the dog out’? These are some of the benefits that Buddy brings. He is undeterred by noisy machines and will accompany you through all those monotonous chores. He sleeps peacefully while you ‘take care of you’ in the morning or night and waits patiently for you to lead the household schedule. This sounds like a little, but really goes a long way. Buddy is truly low maintenance in so many ways. He’s trim and slim, but eats well. He requires short bursts of energy releases rather than a rigid ‘walk and exercise schedule’. The only thing Buddy asks is to be placed in a ‘no drama’ environment. He probably needs to be the only pet, although he has shared a home with other chill female dogs for some periods of time. He’s never met a stranger who enters his safe domain (home). Buddy has lived with a busy foster family of 5 for over a year. Older children/teens and adults are probably the best match for him. He’s a 2.5 year old mixed breed, who appears to have the looks and some quirks of a Dalmatian mixed in there somewhere. Buddy has some sensory impairments (hard of hearing/not completely deaf, and minor depth perception issues). He requires patience and understanding of his needs navigating this world with 2 of his major senses compromised. He’s been passed around and knows it. Despite this, he still enjoys people as they become familiar to him. Understandably, he gets a bit frenzied with new situations, so calm, prepared humans are critical to his well-being. He loves to run and play fetch, sit and catch treats, and, follow his favorite humans around. He has great potty behaviors and enjoys rest time around the house. He is also stellar in his crate. He’s just a guy who will do best in a home with structure, predictability, and good handling, and as an only pet. Come meet Buddy!
