Meet adoptable deaf 13 year old Bubba who is the sweetest most gentle soul looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, become his new best friend and always keep him safe.

From his shelter advocate: Meet Bubba, the 106lb “weighted blanket” you never knew you needed! At 13 years young, Bubba is a soulful Labrador/Pointer mix who has officially mastered the art of the afternoon nap. He was surrendered when his previous owner could no longer care for him, but he hasn’t let that dampen his spirit or his famous “smile.”

Bubba is a healthy senior with a heart of gold. He is the ultimate “low-maintenance” companion: he walks like a total gentleman on a leash (no pulling!), is wonderful with children, and is perfectly happy to spend his day sleeping right by your side. He absolutely loves car rides and is a calm, appreciative passenger.

Bubba lives in a quiet world because he is deaf. This actually makes him a very peaceful housemate—he isn’t bothered by thunderstorms, loud neighbors, or the vacuum! He communicates beautifully through touch and visual cues. While he is a “velcro dog” who loves his humans, he is also well-behaved when left alone once he feels settled in his environment.
He is looking for a retirement home with no cats where he can be the center of someone’s world. Whether you’re a retired couple looking for a steady companion or a family wanting a chill “starter dog,” Bubba is ready to bring a lot of peace and love to your home.
