I wanted to share my weekend happies which are nothing really big but it made for a fun weekend. It started off with ice cream! Gramma wanted to get ice cream at Dairy Queen. I’ve never had ice cream or DQ ice cream. They gave me a pup cup. Mom held it but I was very unsure about eating it. She decided to set it down for me and I ate every last bit of it, yummmmy!!! Gramma didn’t want the end of her cone which also had ice cream in it so she gave it to me and I snarfed that down in no time. Now I am a big DQ fan!
On the same trip Saturday, we went to Ramsey to get three hundred fifty pounds of food. Mom loaded it all into the car and my job was to protect it. I know animals would steal it if they could, so I keep a good watch. I helped her package it up and load it into our freezers when we got home later in the day.
When we arrived home later on Saturday, Nelson was waiting for us in the front window. I think somehow he know we had food in the car. He is so crazy about food, he always knows the status of it.
Sunday after our morning walks and before breakfast Mom took me tracking. I need to get certified again since my first one expired and I would like to get my TD, Tracking Dog Title, this year. There is only one test in the fall so I need to work on my skills. This is the field where Mom laid my track.
I was ready to go and as always I took of at high speed but Mom made me slow down a bit. It was a long track and with five instead of four turns but I got it all done and found the glove at the end. I guess we need to practice a few more times and then get me certified so I can enter the October test. For me tracking is always fun and I get part of my breakfast when I find the article. Mom hates all the work laying the track and the tall grass, but she loves running it as it is amazing to her how we work and can find a glove in all that grass. Those are my weekend happies!
