Swampy Weather Calls For A Swamp Walk

Swampy Weather Calls For A Swamp WalkSwampy weather calls for a swamp walk. Just our luck, there is a big swampy area not far from Gramma’s house where we go walking sometimes. We stopped there on the way to her house this time and went for a steamy walk.

My GBGV Life bridge over creekJust like that famous Christmas carol we went over the river and through the swamp. Wait, I think that was snow but whatever.

My GBGV Life Swampy Weather Calls For A Swamp WalkThe walk was a couple miles and over half of it was in the blazing sunshine. Mom was almost panting!

I got all excited when I noticed that hotdogs on sticks are planted along the sides of this trail. Well, I was excited until I found out they were not hotdogs, but cattails. Oh well, the heat made me a bit delusional I guess.

My GBGV Life Olivia in the shadePart of the loop we took was more woods like which provided some nice shade for us to cool off for a bit.

In the shadier areas we saw a lot of these two kinds of wild flowers blooming. They look pretty along the way.

My GBGV Life Swampy Weather Calls For A Swamp WalkI’ll end with the little creek that runs through the swamp. Mom is so happy I am not interested in water as if I jumped in she would have not been very happy. I don’t even want a drink of that water! We walked for almost an hour and then hopped over to Grammas for some cold water and cookies. It was a nice way to get some exercise before visiting Gramma.

I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
