Get Ready for Fall Routines With PetSmart’s Exclusive Members Appreciation Days

Fall has a way of sneaking up on you. One minute you’re buying pool toys and cooling mats, and the next you’re wondering how you’re already running low on dog food, treats, litter, and approximately everything else your pets consider essential to their continued happiness.

If you’re restocking for fall anyway, PetSmart’s Members Appreciation Days gives Treats Rewards members a pretty good reason to do it before September 20.

Through September 20, Treats Rewards members can earn 5,000 bonus points (worth $10 in savings) when they spend $49 or more on qualifying products and services. Even better, you can earn the bonus once per day.

There is one important step before you start filling your cart, though: you need to activate the offer first.

If you’re already a Treats Rewards member, log into your PetSmart account and look for “Activate & earn 5,000 pts PER DAY on $49+ products & services thru 9/20” at the top of the page. Click to activate it, and you’re set.

And since it’s once per day, this is one of those promotions where spreading out purchases can actually make sense. If you already need food, treats, litter, grooming, training, or other pet essentials this fall, you may be able to earn the 5,000-point bonus on multiple qualifying shopping days rather than cramming everything into one enormous cart.

If You’re Not a Treats Rewards Member Yet, It’s Free

PetSmart Treats Rewards is completely free to join. There’s no paid upgrade waiting around the corner, either. The higher membership tiers are based entirely on how much you spend at PetSmart during the year.

All members start by earning 10 points for every $1 spent on qualifying products and services. Every 1,000 points can then be redeemed for $2 in savings.

The program has three tiers. Membership is free, and the upper tiers are automatically unlocked based on how much you spend each year.

• Member: Free to join and earns the standard 10 points per $1.
• Bestie: Spend $500-$999 in qualifying purchases during the calendar year and you’ll earn an additional 2 points per $1.
• VIPP: Spend $1,000 or more during the year and you’ll earn an additional 4 points per $1.

Bestie and VIPP members also get some extra perks, including tier appreciation events, early access to select sales and events, and personal 2X points days. VIPP members get an additional 2X points day and a special holiday gift.

Even at the basic Member level, there are some nice extras. Treats Rewards members can get members-only in-store pricing and personalized offers, earn points on PetSmart services such as grooming, training, PetsHotel and Doggie Day Camp, and receive a birthday or Gotcha Day gift for their pet. You can even earn 1,000 points just for completing your profile.

Why Members Appreciation Days Is Worth Checking Out

I like rewards programs that give you something back for purchases you were going to make anyway. (Making me jump through 14 hoops to save 37 cents is considerably less exciting.)

That’s really where this PetSmart offer makes the most sense. Spend $49 on qualifying purchases or services and the 5,000 bonus points are worth $10 in future savings. That’s on top of the regular points you’re earning from the purchase itself, plus any applicable tier bonuses or other eligible offers.

And because the Members Appreciation Days bonus can be earned once per day through September 20, people with multiple pets or a decent-sized fall shopping list have a little more opportunity to rack up savings.
