Mother’s Day turned out to be a bath for two day. Nelson was fine about a bath but I had never had a bath at home and I was not interested in participating at all! Turns out, it wasn’t optional. Here we are both post bath, looking shiny clean but I was not a happy camper.
Nelson was the first victim. Per usual he was perfectly fine taking a bath. Mom told him he smelled like a guys locker room and needed a good bath. He is the guy who runs to the grooming table to get his furs done, now he is happy to take a bath, weirdo, really! Mom said he was so good in the tub, she forgot to take tub photos of him.
Next it was my turn. I had never had a bath at home as Mom always took me to our amazing groomer Susan. Since she moved away, we went to the new lady twice but Mom said she will never go back. The last time wasn’t good, it cost a lot more, the job she did wasn’t great and I got an ear full of gunk from that visit which I’ve never had before. We think she got water in my ear. Mom said we have to get bathed and groomed at home going forward. Can you tell I’m not happy about the tub?
Mom told me to smile, it will be fun she said, it won’t take long she said. It is all a bunch of talk. It seemed like I was in the tub for hours and it was not fun at all.
Finally I was hoisted out and wrapped in a towel so I was not able to shake off. Another reason I was not a happy camper. Bailie has had baths at home her whole life on and off so she doesn’t mind but she didn’t need a bath this time. Now Nelson and I are cleaned and brushed and ready to find some good dirt to roll in to get rid of this disgusting clean smell! Paws crossed it will be a few months until the next bath is forced on us.
