Meet adoptable deaf/vision impaired poodle mix puppy Stevie who is looking for a very special and loving forever home.

From his rescue advocate: MY AGE: 10 weeks (8/25) WEIGHT: 4 lbs. (8/25)
MY STORY: Stevie is a sweet poodle mix puppy who came into rescue after a breeder was unable to sell him because he is deaf and has serious vision impairment. Stevie is blind in at least one eye, and he may only be able to see shadows from the other.
Stevie’s disabilities are believed to be connected to double-merle breeding, a genetic issue that can occur when two merle-patterned dogs are bred together. The merle coloring is beautiful and very popular, but when a puppy inherits two copies of the merle gene, it can come with devastating consequences, including deafness and vision problems. Unfortunately, Stevie is one of those puppies.
But Stevie doesn’t see himself as broken. He’s just a puppy.

He deserves the same things every puppy deserves: a loving family, a safe place to call home, and people who are willing to understand the world from his perspective.
Since Stevie cannot hear, his family will need to communicate with him in other ways, such as hand signals, gentle touch, and visual cues. His limited vision also means he’ll need a home where things are kept fairly predictable and where he can safely learn his surroundings. With patience and consistency, dogs like Stevie can adapt beautifully.
Adopting Stevie will come with some extra responsibilities, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. His family will have the chance to teach him that the world is a safe and loving place—and to watch his confidence grow as he learns to navigate it.
Stevie didn’t get the easiest start in life, but that doesn’t have to define his future. He isn’t looking for someone to feel sorry for him. He’s looking for someone who will love him exactly as he is.
If you’re willing to give this special boy the patience, guidance, and unconditional love he deserves, Stevie would love to meet you.
