How handsome is our boy Rocky?

Rocky is a 2 year old male Akita and is looking for his new forever home.

What can we say about Rocky? Isn’t he just gorgeous! He is also a bit of a doofus. Rocky is only a youngster at 2 years of age and hasn’t had much training in his short life. This has meant that he’s ended up like a giant puppy.

Rocky is very strong on the lead, especially around other dogs, bobbing and weaving left and right. Once he has calmed down, he does walk better, but a new owner will need to be prepared to spend time teaching Rocky how to walk nicely so that everyone has an enjoyable walk.

Rocky is only just learning his basic commands like sit. He also gets super excited when he sees his lead and knows he’s going out for a walk.

He likes to jump up to say hello and express his gratitude for getting attention. This is something that will be worked on in our care and needs continued training in a new home.

This lad really does not know his size and will happily walk into you without even flinching; he also came to us as a stray with no history, so we are looking for a home without any children or with children over the age of 12 years who are used to being around large breeds.

We are ideally looking for a home where he can be the only dog in his home. We feel at this stage he will need all of his adopters’ attention whilst he learns his basics.

We cannot place Rocky in a home where there are cats. With the correct training, Rocky is going to make some lucky adopter a fantastic companion; he is affectionate and really enjoys the company of people and making new friends.
