Meet adoptable deaf 3 year old Ivy who is looking for a loving forever home where she will be cherished and always kept safe.

From her shelter advocate:
Ivy is a 3-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix rocking the most stunning snow-white coat and the cutest little pink blush across her face — like she’s permanently saying, “Who, me?”
She’s believed to be deaf or hearing impaired, but don’t let that fool you. Ivy walks through the world with quiet confidence and surprising awareness, taking everything in on her own terms. She may not hear you coming… but she absolutely knows what’s going on. Smart girl energy.

She’s lived with another dog before and seemed to enjoy meeting a new pup at the shelter. She’d likely do quite well with another dog in the household to match her energetic vibe.
Now, full disclosure: Ivy has strong opinions about weather. Rain? Hard pass. Long dramatic walks away from the shelter in said rain? Also no thank you. Luckily, she is highly negotiable in the presence of well-timed, high-value snacks — a trait we respect deeply.
Underneath her adorable sass is a sweet, thoughtful girl who just needs someone willing to meet her where she is and communicate with her in ways she understands. With a patient, loving (treat-filled) home, Ivy is going to blossom into the most loyal little sidekick.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, slightly dramatic, treat-motivated best friend… Ivy is ready to blush her way right into your heart.
Ivy is currently at the St. Mary’s County Animal Adoption and Resource Center located at 22975 FDR Blvd. California MD 20619 Phone: 301-475-8018
