Today I have a few shots from our Alexis road trip over the weekend. We made some stops on the way down and after my trial the first day. I love riding in the car and seeing where we are going. The moment the car starts rolling Nelson lays down and sleeps. He isn’t interested in where we are going and says he will get up when we get to our next stop.
We stopped in Macomb, IL on the way down, which is actually past where we were staying. It is the home of Western Illinois University who has the bulldog mascot. There were painted bulldogs all around town in all sizes. We found this bigger one and liked the paw prints all over it. This bulldog was a good fit for a photo with us.
Our hotel was in Galesburg, IL. As we drove through the cute, old, downtown area of the city, we saw this sign. Of course, Mom had to make a u-turn and we took a photo with the letters. We like how they have goofy shapes.
At my trial, Nelson was rather bored so Mom took him for a walk. They came across a park which happens to have a giant Adirondack chair. We collect photos of us on these big Adirondack chairs. Nelson was happy to sit on it for a photo. Emma started this hobby of collecting the giant chair photos back in May of 2014. Since she started this task of finding and posting these chairs we have run into some twenty of them!
We didn’t have much spare time on our trip as we were driving or at my trial most of the time. On the way back to our hotel Saturday, Mom wanted to take us for a nice walk after being in the car all day. We found Lake Story with some trails on our drive back. It was a nice place for a walk and the weather was ideal. A nice walk feels good after a day of trialing for me and sitting in the car for Nelson. It was a fun but quick road trip weekend.
