Meet adoptable deaf rocker dog Buster (Animal ID-140836) who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, become his new best friend and always keep him safe.

From his shelter advocate: Buster is around 2 years old and already neutered. This special boy is deaf due to an old ruptured eardrum, which also affects his balance and vision. Because he can startle easily, he would do best in a calm home. Buster was the only pet in his foster home, but he was able to interact with a number of different breeds and sizes. The smallest dogs he interacted with were CavaPoos that are around 14 pounds each and the largest he interacted with was a Pitbull/lab mix named Ollie who is around 100 lbs. During the entire time he was around other dogs, he only ever showed a playful demeanor. In our experience with him, he did not show any aggression at all. Because he is deaf, he does best with slow and controlled introductions.

In foster, Buster was described as one of the sweetest dogs they’ve ever met. Once he settled in, he was playful, curious, and full of personality. He loved running around the yard, playing chase and tug-of-war, and “patrolling” the house before curling up close to his people. He forms strong bonds and enjoys staying within eyesight of his humans. He can have some separation anxiety and prefers not to be kenneled, but he finds comfort in familiar scents and routines. He’s begun learning hand signals and was already making great progress. He also did well with potty routines, often letting his foster know when he needed to go outside.

There were a few times where it seemed like he was training them more than they were training him as he would “trick” his fosters into going outside to play more when they thought he needed to use the restroom. Once Buster bonds with you, there is no going back! Buster’s adoption fee has been SPONSORED, which means there is no fee for an adoptive family to pay, thanks to a generous donor.
