Prince is a 20 month old Lurcher and he is looking for a new home. Although he’s not originally an Underdog, when we heard that he needed some support we wanted to try and help him.
Unfortunately, Prince is living in a home that is not suitable for his needs. He has been struggling in the city and needs a less overwhelming environment to call home.
He is also a very energetic boy, and is looking for an active, patient and understanding family.
Prince is just under two years old and is a sighthound mix. He was part of an accidental litter, and was bought as a puppy, but has consistently struggled in London and requires a more experienced handler.
With the support of a local day-care and dog walking business, Prince has had a lot more exposure to other dogs and new people, and he has made a lot of progress regarding his confidence and social skills.
We think this will continue to improve in a semi-rural area.
Prince is adorable and has a very loving, affectionate nature with those he knows. He loves to give cuddles and is really friendly once he has formed a bond with you.
He is however apprehensive of strangers, and needs time to get used to new people. Although Prince doesn’t like being in big groups of dogs in day-care setting, he is very happy on group walks and trots along happily with them.
Prince has been handled quite roughly in the past which has left him sensitive to touch. He has been muzzle trained to make vet visits more manageable, and he also wears this when on walks in case he meets a dog he feels uncomfortable around.

During the day, Prince is quite happy to be left alone for a few hours. He is housetrained and enjoys playing with toys. He has been conditioned to race after a ball when out on walks, so this is his primary source of exercise and he is very ball driven.
He has responded well to training and is generally a very good boy who is eager to please. He sits and waits for his food and takes treats nicely, but doesn’t like to be approached whilst he is eating.
Prince loves spending time in the countryside where he has more space to run around. He would love a home with a big garden and an active lifestyle, and he’s much calmer outside of the hustle and bustle of London.
We would love to see him get the second chance that he deserves in a more suitable home where he can get the attention, focus and training that he thrives on.
