August 2026 was a busy month for all of our rescue partners. Deaf Dogs Rock sponsored 14 deaf pups into rescue in the month of August 2026!
The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf dog or puppy for success by networking and sponsoring them into a experienced special needs rescues where they can go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes. The foster homes are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care before they are available for adoption. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog when it comes to finding the right home for that particular deaf dog. We donate to our partner rescues to ensure each deaf dog is fully vetted before they go to a new home (spayed/neutered). We have seen many deaf dogs go on to become valued therapy partners.
It takes a thoughtful and giving tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission of helping one deaf shelter dog at a time. Deaf Dogs Rock spends between $2500 and $4000.00 each month on Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorships. Every single day on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page you will see us put up Rescue plea posts and offer of rescue sponsorship funding for each deaf dog in need hoping to find rescues who can take the deaf and deaf/blind pups. We share deaf and deaf/blind dogs that are currently be held in shelters across the country trying to get deaf dogs out of over crowded shelters before they are euthanized to make space for more intakes. Sometimes a deaf dog who is surrendered only has a day or two for the opportunity to be pulled by a reputable foster based rescue. For this reason you will see our organization Deaf Dogs Rock offer $200-$300 (urgent medical can go up to $400 to $500) rescue sponsorship on almost every rescue plea we post up on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page. By offering a rescue sponsorship we encourage rescues to help a deaf dog in need. Without the financial sponsorship offers to help with each deaf dog’s vetting expenses, many of the deaf shelter dogs would parish and surely die within a few days.
Deaf Dogs Rock works directly with shelters, rescues, sanctuaries, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf and deaf/visually impaired dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.
When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to get the deaf dog out of the shelter (or from an individual) and help our partner rescues set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home. We do this by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them and fully vets each special needs pup. Our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians which need to done after 12 months of age). We also offer each rescue courtesy adoption listings to be posted on our national website at Deaf Dogs Rock by targeting experienced deaf dog homes looking to add a new deaf dog to their families.
Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored another 14 deaf dogs/pups into rescue in August, 2026. So far just starting off 2026, our Deaf Dogs Rock community have sponsored 105 deaf dogs and puppies into the safe harbor of partner rescues across the country. Since the beginning of our Rocker Dog/Puppy Program several years ago, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 1925 deaf dogs into rescue (as of 08/30/26).

Morty and Bandit – Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue – Troy VA
Our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue in Troy VA took in these two sweet deaf dogs Morty and Bandit are both recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program. Thanks to Kim Frank, and Mel Biddle, J. Parker and Denise Pence for your donations on our Deaf Dogs Rock 15th Anniversary. Because of your kind consideration and donations to Deaf Dogs Rock on our Anniversary, we were able to sponsor these two deaf pups into rescue to help GDU with their upcoming vetting expenses to get them ready for adoption in the near future.
Skyler – Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue – Troy VA
When a sweet family reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock for help with their deaf puppy, we connected them with Erika Proctor at Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue in Troy, VA. Skyler was just 15 minutes up the road so Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored sweet deaf Lab puppy Skyler into Green Dogs Unleashed where she will get additional foundation sign training, get fully vetted while in foster care and find a loving forever family who will make a commitment to continue her positive reinforcement training to set her up for success and a happy life.

Clover
From our friends at Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona: Above: Clover is about a year old, deaf, and very vision impaired. Clover was rescued after the Humane Society of Southern Arizona reached out to us. She was found in a winter rain storm, running along a roadway, and a good Samaritan picked her up, fed her, and took her to the shelter. Thanks to a wonderful PNP pilot, they picked her up and flew her to Phoenix within hours of us finding out about her. When she arrived, we mentioned to each other that her mannerisms and size were so similar to a dog we took in a few months before. After we received Clover’s DNA results, we were surprised that Wisdom Panel matched the two girls as sisters. Sisters that were found over 150 miles apart.
From Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue – Above: Dewey is deaf and smart as can be. Dewey is about a year old. He loves people and other nice dogs. This boy was rescued from a ranch, which was raised with all kinds of animals, including ostriches, goats, pics, and cattle and children, too.
When our friends at the Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock for some help with four deaf pups they recently rescue, we were happy to help. We also were very fortunate to have a memory donation sent in this month from Todd in memory of his deaf dogs Whitey who passed away on 8/6/24 so that we could step up and help all four deaf pups who needed financial assistance with their vetting and ophthalmologist appointment expenses. Carl, Irene, Watson and Sherlock – North Texas Australian Shepherd Rescue
When Samantha from North Texas Australian Shepherd Rescue reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock with assistance for four deaf dogs, we were happy to help. Sweet deaf dogs Carl, Irene, Watson and Sherlock are all recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program to help NTASR with their up coming vetting expenses to get each puppy ready for adoption soon.

Above: Carl is a 6-7 month old deaf pups who was owner surrendered to the local Dallas Fort Worth Shelter. He is 100% deaf and vision impaired. He is a very sweet deaf dogs and is getting along famously with all the other dogs. Once his vetting is complete he will be available for adoption in the near future.

Eleven week old deaf and vision impaired Aussie pups Sherlock, Irene, and Watson were purchased as littermates by a family from a back yard breeder who did not disclose to the family their deafness or visual impairments. The family chose to surrender them to NTASR where they will get additional training, care, vetting and also matched with a loving forever home. Thanks to our supporters all four deaf pups will be sponsored to help with their upcoming vetting expenses. Thanks to Sam at North Texas Australian Shepherd Rescue for rescuing these four very special deaf pups!
Todd Clark – Senior deaf and vision impaired pug – Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue – sponsored through Nitro’s Fund
When I first saw senior hearing and vision impaired pug Todd Clark with Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue, I knew in my heart both my deaf dogs Nitro and Tallulah Jane would want us to help him. Our Tallulah Jane was a Chug who we adopted in 2009 and then we adopted our deaf boxer Nitro the following year in 2010. Nitro and Tallulah were the best of friends from the very second they laid eyes on each other and all through their entire lives so it would only make sense for Nitro’s Fund to help little senior pug Todd Clark. Todd has lots of medical issues so we want to help the rescue with some of those expenses. Todd Clark will be a very first non-boxer sponsorship through this fund but we feel he is so worthy and if Nitro was here today, Todd Clark and Nitro would be best friends!
RIP – Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue – Troy VA
When a person reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock about a deaf red heeler puppy she did not feel equipped to raise, we reached out to our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue in Troy, VA to see if they would make room for deaf puppy Rip. Rip was just up the road about two hours north in Maryland from GDU’s headquarters in Troy, VA so transport was easy. GDU had an open foster for RIP and he was transported to GDU on 8/18/26. Rip is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to give to the rescue so they can get a lot of his puppy vetting done to get him ready for adoption in the near future. Thanks to Erika with GDU for making room for RIP.
Katara – Speak Rescue and Sanctuary – MO
We are so happy to report that sweet deaf dog Katara was saved from sweltering heat and being tied outside. Our friends at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary jumped into action and got possession of Katara after a concerned family member of the owner of the deaf dog Katara contacted Speak. She is now safe and being fostered in the St Louis area with Speak Rescue and Sanctuary and it is proof that speaking up for deaf dogs really does matter in order to save their lives from suffering and even death. Katara is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog rescue sponsorship program to help Speak with her upcoming vetting bills to get her ready for adoption in the near future.
