Hi, I’m Eraty, a small size kokoni mix girl.
I don’t remember much kindness from my early life.
I was one of 27 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation last October. We had never really been socialised, and human contact wasn’t something we looked forward to.
Like the others, I was especially worried about anyone touching around my neck. It brought back memories I’d rather forget.
When I arrived in rescue, I was scared of almost everything. People were confusing, the world felt big, and trusting anyone seemed impossible.
But then I moved into a foster home.
The dogs there became my best friends straight away. They showed me how to play, how to relax, and most importantly, how to feel safe. My foster mum and dad had to work a little harder.
For weeks, I watched them from a distance, trying to understand why they kept being so gentle with me.
They never rushed me.
They never expected more than I could give.
And slowly, something changed.
One day I realised I wanted to be a little closer. Then a little closer again. Before I knew it, I was sitting beside them on the sofa, enjoying head scratches and asking for cuddles all by myself.
These days, I’m a happy girl who loves countryside walks, playing with my doggy friends, and relaxing at home. I also live with cats and get along with them very well.
I’m still a sensitive soul and I’ll need a family who understands that trust is something I’ve had to learn. But every step of my journey has shown that underneath the fear was a loving dog just waiting for someone to believe in her.
A friendly, playful resident dog is a must to build my confidence.
If you’re patient, kind, and willing to let me go at my own pace, I think we could be something very special together.
Love,
Eraty
