Meet sweet adoptable deaf six year old Penny who has been so patiently waiting for a loving forever home to call her home!

Penny- CA – Deaf Dogs Rock

From her shelter advocate: Hi! My name is Penny. I have lived at the Camarillo Animal shelter since December 2025 and I sure am ready for a home of my own. I am about 6 years old and a Pitbull terrier. I was found as a stray and nobody came to get me. Living at the shelter is scary for a deaf dog like me. I see other dogs and tend to react. I love when my human friends come to take me out of me kennel. When I’m out on walks with my volunteer friends, I am a great leash walker. I love people! I love getting pets and getting and giving love and affection. Sometimes I get wiggly when they find the right pet spot.
I sure do love my treats and am learning to sit, stay and wait for them. I came to the shelter with a skin condition that didn’t feel so good. My volunteer friends give me medicated baths and my skin and fur look beautiful and I am feeling so much better. I love getting baths and am told I’m the bestest girl at bath time.

While my volunteer friends take good care of my, there are a lot of other dogs here that they need to care for so I’d really love my very own family.

If you are interested in meeting me or adopting me I am currently being held at the Ventura County Animal Services located at: 600 Aviation Dr, Camarillo, CA 93010
