Lucia is an very pretty, medium-sized puppy girl Mix breed, with a fluffy off white soft coat She is a lovely gentle girl, and at times quite nervous but very affectionate and loves  attention from the volunteers and enjoys being cuddled and groomed. She gets on well with her kennel mate, but definitely prefers to be with people.

Lucia has just started her lead training  which is going well, as we don’t think she is used to being walked because she came with chain round her neck and black stains on her fur so we think she’s just been  chained up all her life poor girl, but we are happy she is gaining confidence on a daily rate. Lucia is not cat tested yet. We really want a loving home for this girlie with another friendly dog and children over 12 years.

In foster in Swadlincote. She is very gentle and sweet, affectionate and clean in the house. Loves her foster carer’s dog!

  • Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog:
  • Homecheck:
  • For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas:
  • Adoption Fee: £
Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young, then the new owners will need to ensure this is done and proof sent to us once complete. All dogs are microchipped

All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. DogwatchUk does this on your behalf so that we know that its been done.

All our adoptions are subject to successful homechecks which are carried out via a video call. There is now a deposit for all homechecks of £25 which is deducted from the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK (or Paypal) and covers the cost of passport, bloods, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.
If you are adopting a UK dog then the process is still the same but there will be no bloods or passport or transport costs.
If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.
If the application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.
Our checker will be given your details to contact you. All homechecks are now conducted virtually and will be undertaken via video call (using skype, zoom or equivalent).
We will need to meet ALL members of the family living at the address, including children.
Proof of ID and landlord permission (if applicable) is required

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.

We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.

Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Paid to the Spanish rescue via UK bank account
