Let’s party! I have a dozen parties in my past as I turn thirteen this week. That is a lot of parties, a lot of different family members, cakes, and party hats. Come with me as I go down memory lane remembering my party each year.
I’m purple girl, but my first year party was all about pink, how silly is that? It was me, Katie and Emma. Of course, Emma made my party treats since she was a Grand baker.
Year two was a bit more festive but still nothing formal, meaning sitting around a table together. It would be the last year Katie was at my party.
My third birthday was quite sad as Katie passed away on my birthday which was ten days before her fourteenth birthday. We spent the morning together. Emma and I still had cake later in the day but it was not a festive feeling.
Turning four we welcomed Madison to my birthday for the first time. She was ten months old. Mom bought me some kind of dunce cap for a party hat and I was rather embarrassed.
My fifth birthday was a pretty good time. Madison found a bakery to order a cake for me which was amazing! My party hat was much better too.
I’m not sure what was going on when I turned six but I had a cake and we all seemed to be in our own little worlds. Emma, our leader was no longer with us and Olivia was new to the family.
Seven seemed to be truly lucky as we all enjoyed the big cookies I ordered for my party. Mine disappeared but my sisters seemed to need extra time since the cookies were big.
Eight was great! My sisters were trying to rush me so we could give the cupcakes a try. Look at the huge dollops of frosting on them, yummm!!!
Nine seemed to be fine as we added Nelson to the family that year. He flat out refused to wear the party hat and since he loves food so much we waited to put my dessert out until after the family photo. Our table was almost full and we all like that.
I turned a perfect ten and had another Grand party with four of us. We miss Madison so much. She was always such a happy and polite guest at our parties. Not sure where my dessert was when we took this photo.
My eleventh birthday was a lot of fun. Nelson was a big miffed about waiting to eat until after photos but he forgot all about it once he got his treat. Little did we know at the time that it was my last party with Madison for my birthday.
Last year when I turned twelve, we were down to the three of us. It is a pretty good photo considering the desserts are right there in front of Nelson. He is focused as he has learned, photos before food.
That’s a wrap from a dozen parties and now I will embark on party number thirteen. Our parties are always a special occasion even when sad things happen. Mom says it is important to celebrate our special days and that is what we will be doing tomorrow for me.
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
