Meet Damian, a young cross-breed dog with a gentle soul who is slowly learning to trust the world around him.
Damian is around 2 years old and was rescued from another shelter after being found wandering alone on a road, likely having been abandoned. His early life was not kind to him, and he arrived shy and fearful, unsure of people and new experiences.
Despite this, Damian is making steady progress. With patience and care from the team at Rescates Garatuxa in northern Spain, he is beginning to come out of his shell.
Recently, he took an important step forward by going for a walk outside on a harness with a volunteer – a big milestone for a dog like him.
We believe Damian did not receive proper nutrition or care as a puppy, which has affected his physical development. This is sadly not uncommon in hunting dogs.
What he needs now is a home that can offer him time, understanding, and gentle guidance as he continues to build confidence.
Damian is good with other dogs and would likely benefit from a calm, stable environment, possibly with another confident dog to help him feel secure. He would suit an experienced and patient adopter who understands that trust takes time.
He will be fully prepared for travel – vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and with his passport ready – and can travel to the U.K. or across Europe to the right home.
If you can offer Damian the quiet, compassionate home he needs, you will see him slowly blossom into a loyal and loving companion.
As with all of our dogs, he comes with full rescue back-up.
