Introducing Angel who is a deaf dog looking for a loving forever home! Angel came to the Humane Society of Central Oregon after she was found cold, frightened, and alone in a ditch. Since then, this remarkable girl has shown just how fitting her name is. She is gentle, affectionate, and full of sweetness, with a smile that brightens the day of everyone she meets.

Angel was born with a congenital eye deformity and is believed to be completely blind. She is also suspected to have lost most or all of her hearing, as she does not respond to sounds in the way we would expect. However, Angel is wonderfully adaptable. She uses her strong sense of smell to explore her surroundings and has already impressed us with her ability to learn and navigate the world around her.

Angel is looking for a patient, dedicated family who will help her feel safe and confident. She will thrive in a home with a consistent routine, a secure environment, and furniture and belongings that remain in familiar places. Her adopter should be prepared to learn about caring for a blind and potentially hearing-impaired dog while still giving Angel plenty of opportunities to explore, play, and enjoy a full life. Angel found stairs very difficult so a home where she did not have to go up and down them regularly would likely be the best fit.

If you are ready to welcome an extraordinary companion into your family, stop by HSCO and ask to meet her. Information about our shelter and hours can be found on our website at hsco.org
