Meet adoptable deaf boy Blitz who is looking for his BFF and a loving home with someone who will cherish him and always keep him safe.

Blitz is a 2-year-old deaf sweetheart looking for a family to call his own. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and has a whole lot of love to give.
Blitz came to the shelter with two of his littermates after their owner found themselves with more animals than they could continue to care for. Through no fault of his own, Blitz suddenly found himself adjusting to shelter life after spending his entire life in the same home. He grew up surrounded by several other dogs, and it shows—Blitz gets along wonderfully with his canine friends! He is happy to enjoy a playful romp or simply walk alongside another dog and take in the world together.

Being deaf doesn’t stop Blitz from connecting with the people around him. He may not hear you call his name, but he is attentive, affectionate, and wonderfully tuned in to his surroundings. He feels every loving pat, sees every welcoming gesture, and has plenty of ways to tell you just how happy he is to be with you.
Blitz is a sweet, loyal, and curious guy who loves exploring and investigating everything around him. His nose is always ready to discover something new, but what he really wants is someone to explore life with.
Blitz is currently heartworm positive, so his future family will need to understand that treatment and appropriate veterinary care are part of getting this special guy back to his healthiest self. His diagnosis doesn’t change the affectionate, playful dog underneath it.

After spending his first two years knowing what it feels like to have a home, Blitz is ready to find the one that will truly be his forever.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a dog-friendly buddy, and a special pup who will remind you that love doesn’t require sound, Blitz might just be your guy.
Blitz is available for adoption at the Plaquemines Campus at 455 F. Edward Hebert Blvd in Belle Chasse. We are open Tuesday-Saturday 10-5. For any questions, please call 504-934-6931 or email plaqueminescampus@laspca.org.
