I spent my first night in a hotel the day my new family picked me up. The trip was just over eighteen hours to my new home and way too far to drive all at once. I did really well, and the hotel was quite a nice place. Mom found a Candlewood Suites as they often allow more than two dogs in a room. I think I should only be counted as a half but they count me as a whole dog.
Our room was pretty close to the lobby. Mom liked that since it meant we didn’t have far to go to get me outside if I needed to use the “facilities”. This is me in the hallway right by the door to our room.
Nelson likes to be on the bed but I am too small to get up there myself, so Mom put me up there. This is us two guys just chillin’ together, trying to figure each other out.
I learned quickly that my new mom loves to take photos. Some further proof is that she insisted on a shot of all three of us on the bed. Olivia was not so thrilled but she did it anyway.
Leaving home with two humans and two dogs I had never met before was rather stressful. I was really tired out that night. My new mom said she had to work until midnight as she had lots of work to catch up on. I decided to sleep under the desk she was sitting at. I crashed out hard.
Eventually, I rolled over onto my belly and my new mom had to take another photo of me. We all did get into bed around midnight and everyone slept great. Being in this hotel place was not bad at all.
My first night in a hotel was about to come to an end as we needed to check out and head to my new home in Minnesota. Our navigator/travel dog nanny, took this photo of me on the blanket that smells like my family, and the toy my breeder also sent with me. Look in the mirror. That was accidental, but rather funny. That Nelson is a silly guy! I’m excited to travel again one of these days and stay in more hotels.
