Today, it is all about me in Henry’s first road trip. I road the eighteen hours or so in the RuffLand kennel. Mom says I’m still too small for a seat belt and we didn’t want to squeeze the three of us together in the backseat since we didn’t know one another. It was comfy and plenty of space for me since I am small still.
I was born and spent my first nine weeks and six days in Alabama. That makes Alabama my first state.
Next on my first day of the road trip we went through Mississippi. It was hard to find any kind of a sign so Mom held me up inside a building for this photo and my second state ever. We spent the night in Mississippi.
The second and final day on our trip to my new home we entered Tennessee, state number three. They too only have signs that are way up in the air so, once again, Mom held me up to the sign. Note, on both days, Mom wore shades of blue since I am her blue dog.
From Tennessee we headed into Arkansas the fourth state. Mom says I wouldn’t sit still I say I wanted my photo to show that I was just passing through. What do you think when looking at my photo? It was pouring rain until a few minutes before we got to the Welcome Center. Lucky for us it stopped!
After Arkansas we traveled to and through Missouri, state number five. They have several signs at their Welcome Center. I chose to take a photo with this one. Once again Mom held me up since the sign is high up.
Iowa came next, state number six. It is a state that is exciting as watching paint dry when you drive through and it takes forever! They also have no Iowa signs in their Welcome Centers so we snapped one on the road. It is way to dangerous to stop for a photo on a busy highway.
Finally after a very long second day of driving we made it to my new home state of Minnesota. They didn’t have a sign at their Welcome Center either and it was dark out anyway so we snapped the sign on the building. On the day I turned ten weeks old I had seven states under my furry belt. Not bad! I also got to see lots of different vegetation, weather and nature from the car window.
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
