Why Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is the perfect home base for exploring coastal California with your dog.
By Susan Sims, Publisher FIDO Friendly Magazine
I grew up in Orange County, raised my family here, and spent countless days exploring the beaches, harbors, and coastal communities that make this corner of Southern California so special. Newport Beach wasn’t simply a destination; it was part of everyday life. Although I no longer call Orange County home, every opportunity to return feels like a homecoming. So when Hyatt Regency Newport Beach invited me to experience the resort and share it with FIDO Friendly® readers, I happily accepted. There are few places I enjoy revisiting more than the community that shaped so many of my favorite memories, and I was eager to discover how one of Newport Beach’s premier resorts welcomes today’s travelers and their four-legged companions.
Some hotels welcome pets. Others welcome families, including the four-legged members.
After more than 25 years exploring pet-friendly destinations for FIDO Friendly®, I’ve learned that the best hotels offer more than a place to stay. They become part of the destination itself.
From the moment I arrived at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, it was clear this coastal resort understands the difference. Dogs aren’t simply accommodated; they’re genuinely welcomed, beginning with a complimentary plush dog bed waiting in the room and continuing with beautifully landscaped walking paths that invite leisurely morning strolls beneath swaying palms.
Nestled on 26 acres overlooking Newport Back Bay, Hyatt Regency Newport Beach combines relaxed coastal luxury with one of its greatest assets: location. True to the Hyatt Regency brand, the resort feels connected to the surrounding community, encouraging guests to experience Newport Beach rather than simply stay nearby. Nearly every major attraction is only minutes away, making it easy to spend less time driving and more time enjoying the coast.
