Olivia and I had a weekend of sniffin’ fun at Phillippo Scout Camp last weekend. Olivia had two trials which totaled eight searches on Saturday and I had four searches on Sunday. Mom volunteered Sunday morning. I was sniffing for my L1E, Level One Exterior Title. It is the lowest level so only one fairly easy hide in each search. Sometimes it is nice to have the pressure off and do some simple sniffing. I was successful and found all four hides earning my L1E Title. I’m not known for speed but I did place second in my last search finding the hide in 0:15:56. Mom didn’t video my searches as they are really fast and not all that interesting.
Now I have all four of my Level One Element Titles, Interiors, Exteriors, Containers, and Vehicles. I have two of the four Level Two, and One Level Three Titles. Completing the rest of Level Two and Three Elements is something to work on going forward.
Olivia had an ELT-P trial on Saturday morning and an L3E in the afternoon. The L3E was a disaster because Mom lost her mind and made two stupid mistakes out of nervousness and ruined the chance for a title. Olivia found all the hides but Mom negated that with her craziness. She feels bad about it. Overall, Olivia found seventeen of the eighteen hides from both trials which was real nice. The ELT-P was super fun and not stressful.
The video is one of Olivia’s ELT-P searches, the second search of the day. She and Mom had so much fun and Olivia earned first place in that search. It is in the same place where she earned her AKC Detective Title three years ago. I think you’ll enjoy watching her work. You’ll see she says “here” to Olivia when Olivia tries to leave the room. This is her new command so when Olivia is off leash and goes out of bounds, she knows to turn around and head back into the correct area. So far it is really working well.
Our GoPro is not being nice lately. At Olivia’s Summit Trial it stopped working and Mom worked for a long time one day to get it to charge. Now as you will see in this video, it shakes randomly. Nevertheless, it is still a fun video where Olivia finds four hides in well under a minute. We are happy because we both love sniffing!
