Rusty is a 6 year old male Kokoni Cross.
Rusty is one of the 27 dogs rescued last October from a heartbreaking hoarding situation — a place where love, care, and basic safety were missing for far too long.
When he was found, Rusty was in terrible condition. He had been attacked and suffered from severe, open wounds that required urgent and prolonged veterinary care.
He spent weeks at the clinic, where his wounds were cleaned and treated every single day. While this was a difficult time for him physically, it became a turning point in his life.
Thanks to the patience, consistency, and kindness of our incredible vets, Rusty slowly began to learn that human hands can be gentle, and that he is finally safe.
Today, Rusty is still a shy boy — but he has already come such a long way. He now walks on a lead and will come over happily for treats, showing his growing trust and curiosity.
While he isn’t ready for cuddles just yet, he is quietly building confidence every day, and it’s truly beautiful to watch.
