Lovely, gentle Serena is a five year old, small, tan SBT girl, weighing 20.2kg, with a soft coat and lovely temperament towards humans and other dogs. She arrived at the pound with her sister Venus, who has the same colouring but is slightly bigger and they are best of friends and kennelled together.
 
Serena is a calm girl, who already knows how to walk very well on a lead and even sit!  Serena is the quieter of the two. You can see both girls walking together with another dog on the video, and on the other video it shows Serena being hassled by another dogs and she’s not reactive.
 
Poor girls had been abandoned together and they get comfort from being kenneled together, but if they get home offers they can be split. Serena just loves her walks and just wants love and fuss so the sooner we can get her into a loving home the better. She can live with children over 10 years old and other gentle, placid dogs.

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young, then the new owners will need to ensure this is done and proof sent to us once complete. All dogs are microchipped

All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. DogwatchUk does this on your behalf so that we know that its been done.

All our adoptions are subject to successful homechecks which are carried out via a video call. There is now a deposit for all homechecks of £25 which is deducted from the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK (or Paypal) and covers the cost of passport, bloods, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.
If you are adopting a UK dog then the process is still the same but there will be no bloods or passport or transport costs.
If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.
If the application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.
Our checker will be given your details to contact you. All homechecks are now conducted virtually and will be undertaken via video call (using skype, zoom or equivalent).
We will need to meet ALL members of the family living at the address, including children.

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.

We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.

Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
