We were on the road early for ribbons last week. After getting up at 3 am, we were in the car just before 6 am and on the road for almost two hours to New Ulm. At least that early, traffic is not bad at all! Getting up so early for work is hard but for sniffing fun, we don’t mind at all!
The AKC Scent Work Trial was at the St. Pauls Lutheran School. We have never been to a trial at this location. Mom entered us since there wasn’t much else to enter in July and they had Masters searches Nelson and I both needed. Each of us were entered in four searches, me two buried hides, and two exterior searches, Nelson two container searches and two interior searches.
It was not planned but all four of my searches ended up being first thing in the morning. I qualified in all four and got compliments on my searching from both judges. In my buried hide searches I earned a first and third place, and in my exteriors, I earned a second and fourth place. I needed two Q’s for my Master Exterior Elite Title and I got them. Now I have added SEME to my fancy name: Ethos Loving The Northland SCME SEME SWM SWD RATS FCAT3 CA TKN CGC FDC ELT-P SMTx2 L2C L2E L3V L3I ELT-S
Nelson and Mom had some struggles although Mom says it was her fault that she messed up. Nelson loves to sniff win or lose so he isn’t upset. This photo is him waiting for his last search of the day.
He ended up with a second place in his first container search and fifth place in his second interior search. The other two searches Mom made stupid calls and got him an NQ. She says it is hard sometimes to switch between the two of us as we are a bit different and she doesn’t know Nelson quite as well as she knows me. Still he is adding to his totals to get his first Master Elite titles. It was a fun day of sniffing and we were done early enough to go do some tourist things. All three of us went home happy campers.
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
