Bucky is a 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart as big as his energy level looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, become his new best friend and always keep him safe! This handsome boy is full of life and always ready for his next adventure — whether that’s a long walk, a game of fetch, or exploring the great outdoors by your side.
Bucky is deaf, but don’t let that fool you — it doesn’t slow him down one bit! Deaf dogs are incredibly adaptable and often bond very closely with their people. With simple hand signals, patience, and consistency, Bucky will thrive. In fact, many deaf dogs are extremely focused and tuned in to their humans.
Like many cattle dogs, Bucky is smart, alert, and eager to stay active. He would thrive with a family who enjoys an energetic lifestyle and wants a loyal companion to share it with. He’s the kind of pup who’s happiest when he has something to do and someone to do it with.
The best part? Bucky does well with other dogs! He enjoys canine friends and would likely love a playful sibling in his new home.
Sadly, Bucky keeps getting overlooked at the shelter — and we can’t understand why. Maybe it’s because he’s deaf. Maybe it’s because he’s been waiting patiently while others get noticed. But once you meet him, you’ll see what a special, joyful, loving boy he truly is.
