Details of Harvey

This gorgeous Staffordshire Bull Terrier pup is Harvey, a little Brindle boy standing at 48 cms. He is a proper little sweetheart, just like his sister Grace (also on our website)

His sad tale is that he was taken into the pound when a small pup and left and overlooked, 8 months ago people stopped walking and caring for him and so he was starved of human interaction, until DWUK took him out 2 months ago when he was  just 12 months old, and brought them to foster in the UK! He is now in a safe, loving, busy foster home on the South East coast, waiting for his forever home.

We can’t test for cats, so we ask for cat free homes and children over 10, even though they are used to the foster mums grandchildren who are younger. Harvey is neutered  and vaccinated, flea and wormed.

Foster report

Harvey will get on with male and female dogs. He could go to a home with an older dog or a female dog. Adopters would love the gentle ways he shows (when allowed by other dog e.g. Cooper he met and played with so lovely to see both enjoying each other).

He is non reactive to fireworks (been through Nov 5th / Christmas & Newyear and  fine.) He would both integrate well into loving home when adopted.

His Best Points:

Happy, friendly, normal size, attractive.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog:

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped

All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. This costs £17. If you would like us to arrange this for you, at a reduced rate of £7.20, we will ask you to do a bank transfer to allow us to register the change.

Homecheck:

All our adoptions are subject to successful homechecks.

The adoption fee is £250.00 for transport plus an adoption fee of £250.00 depending on the breed and age of the cat.  The fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK or Paypal and covers the cost of passport, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.   There is now a deposit for all homechecks of £25 which is deducted from the adoption fee.

If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.

If application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.

All homechecks are now conducted virtually and will be undertaken via video call (using skype, zoom or equivalent).

We will need to meet ALL members of the family living at the address, including children.

Proof of ID and landlord permission is required

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas:

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
