Vet visits, should I be thankful for them this week or mad because Mom made me go twice? I really dislike the car ride and I am not happy at the vet either. Staying home is so much nicer! I had my annual exam at Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital. Nelson goes the end of April and Olivia the end of May, so at least I am not the only one. The people are very nice there but I still would rather stay home.
Sunday Mom took me to the urgent care vet. I’m having some leaking urine issues. For many years I’ve been taking an incontinence pill but now it is working on and off. Mom felt like she needed to rule out a UTI, so off we went. Lucky for me, Mom only had them do a quick exam and check my urine. They wanted to do a complete work up for $1000 but Mom said no.
Amazing for an urgent care vet, we only spent an hour there. The test came back negative and Mom said my regular vet would take care of me from there. I was thrilled to get back home!
Tuesday we had my next appointment with my regular vet. It turned out to be about an hour as well and a lot less money too! She tested me and looked all over me and said I look good. I’m getting a supplement to help my muscles maintain themselves which would be a good thing.
This time I had to go in the back for a full blood work up. We are still waiting for the results. Once my tests come back we can decide how to proceed with my incontinence meds. For the time being I am wearing panties at night when I sleep just in case. I really don’t mind, and Mom likes that I let her put them on me. Mom and I are thankful so far things are good with my health and paws crossed my tests all come back normal.
