We stay at Hilton Hamptons all the time, but had never tried a Tru by Hilton. They seem to be popping up all over and on this trip it fit with where we wanted to be so we reserved a room. Today we thought we would share out thoughts on our stay. Starting with the doors things are different from other Hilton hotels. If you want to read it all, be careful where you step as they open and then you can’t read them anymore.
We loved the fun lobby. There are snacks and beverages available 24/7, a nice place to sit and chat and then a game area. We stayed at the West Memphis Tru. You know we love murals so an indoor one is a bonus for us.
Our room was on the third floor. When you get off the elevator there is no mistaking which floor you are on. The hotel was quiet and good for sleeping. They had signs posted here and there reminding people of “quiet hours”.
The bed was the same as other Hiltons we have stayed at. What is our overall opinion? We would not stay at this location again as it was in a shady area. Mom would not leave the parking lot on foot. The only big problem we had with the hotel itself was the flooring in our room. In the bathroom the flooring was fine but the flooring in the rest of the room was like ice. It was some kind of fake wood flooring but super slippery. Nelson not able to get on the bed on his own and Mom was scared to death he would hurt himself getting off as he slipped. Even I, the athletic one, only managed to get onto the bed about half the time. It was just horrible having such a slippery floor. For this reason we give Tru a seven of ten points. We will try another Tru one of these days and if they have the same slippery flooring we won’t go back.
A couple other things we really liked at the hotel are the different do not disturb sign and the water station to fill water bottles. Mom won’t drink tap water in a hotel, so this is perfect. The breakfast buffet was standard. Mom doesn’t use it at all but we got some eggs to add to our meals.
