Meet adoptable deaf 8 month old Australian Cattle Dog – Blue Heeler girl Nugget who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will provide structure and daily positive reinforcement training/socialization and enrichment.

Nugget – CA – Deaf Dogs Rock

From her caregiver: We adopted nugget when she was 2 months old. The people we got her from didn’t know much about her, at least that’s what they said. We later found out she was deaf. She was very skittish and anxiety ridden so she needs someone who will gain her trust and provide a regular routine for her to feel confident. We’ve been working with her and she’s been advancing.

Nugget is enrolled in weekly training and confidence building. However, she doesn’t get along with our elderly cat nor does she get along with one of our family members because men can make her nervous. She is much more comfortable around women. We love Nugget and really would like to keep her but know that she would probably do better with a one on one owner rather than a family. She is special needs, she is deaf and sometimes scared of her own shadow. If you are interested please reach out. At the moment she is being fostered by my adult daughter.

Her adoption fee is $200 to a screened and approved home only. You must live withing a 100 miles of Aptos CA to be considered for adoption.
