Hermione is a 7 year old female mixed breed currently in foster care in Lincolnshire. She was rescued from a public shelter and is now looking for a quiet, stable home.
Hermione is an affectionate and people-focused girl who enjoys close companionship. She is happiest when receiving attention, going for walks and exploring new scents. In the home, she enjoys relaxing and will often greet you with gentle, sleepy stretches.
She walks well on the lead, although she can occasionally be strong-willed about the direction she prefers. Her recall is good when motivated by treats, and she travels well in the car.
Hermione currently lives with other dogs in foster care. While she does not initiate conflict, she can lack boundaries around other dogs, particularly around food.
She has previously been attacked following an interaction over a treat and required surgery. She has fully recovered physically, but since this incident she can be reactive towards some dogs and other animals, including cats.
For this reason, Hermione would be best suited as the only pet in an adult-only home.
She can take a few days to warm up to men and to new environments, but once settled she forms strong bonds and enjoys affection and reassurance.
She shows natural guarding tendencies around her home and people, so a quieter household with limited visitors would suit her best. Slow and structured introductions to regular visitors will be important.
