Meet adoptable deaf 5 year old Diesel who is a sweet deaf bully looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, become his new best friend, let him live inside with his new family and always keep him safe. Diesel is neutered, house trained and crate trained.
From his shelter advocate: Diesel is a sweet and gentle love bug!! Diesel’s shelter was severely damaged from the last snow storm and AHS desperately needed fosters to help place the dogs while their roof is being repaired. I’ve never fostered before but based on my upcoming schedule I felt I could make it work. Diesel is an absolute sweetheart! Unsure or his exact age but I think he is older due to his energy and movement. He is deaf, and has some skin allergies, but that hasn’t stopped him one bit.
Diesel loves to snuggle and nap. He is very smart and responsive to body language and hand signals. Since he is deaf I like to wake him up by having him smell me so I don’t startle him. I’ve been working on his skin allergies and it already seems to be improving! Wiping him down after walks, a medicated bath, no chicken, adding some salmon oil to his food have been working great. He even looks forward to getting his wipes after his walks outside. He is house trained and will wait by the door if he has to go out.
He will go in the crate but he loves to hang on the couch and snuggle up in lots of blankets and pillows. He does get a bit vocal on walks but I believe it’s because he wants some attention since he is deaf. He loves to watch you cook and work but won’t beg for food (though he waits patiently for the cheese tax). I’ve had a few guests over and he was great with them. He is a very sweet soul and deserves to find his forever family.
