Lexi is a 4 year 6 month old female German Shepherd Cross.
Lexi’s story is heartbreaking.
This truly remarkable girl was found tied outside the shelter in June 2025.
She was extremely weak and terrified, with visible wounds on her body and spirit. She was all skin and bones, with dirty, patchy fur and advanced leishmaniasis.
The marks on her body told the story of a dog who had likely spent her whole life in chains.
The vet gave her almost no chance of survival, but this girl wanted to live and the rescue simply could not turn their backs on her.
With treatment, care, and endless love, Lexi has beaten all the odds and six months later she is full of life and happiness, with shiny fur and a heart full of love.
She bears her scars with such grace, and her sweet, calm, and friendly nature is incredible to see.
Lexi is Leishmania positive, which is fully managed and has no impact on her lifespan or happiness. Full information, support, and reassurance are provided for any Leishmania positive dog.
Please do not let this manageable and no-risk condition put you off this fantastic, beautiful girl.
It is finally time for Lexi to live free, far away from chains and fear. Whoever offers Lexi her forever home will truly understand what dog rescue is all about.
The bond that will be formed will be unbreakable, and you will have a dog who repays you with unconditional love and loyalty.
Lexi can fly to the UK in March.
